Not only is the streaming of every beloved Jurassic film some welcome news, but it is also a fantastic opportunity to look back on and analyze each film all these years later. Virtually every fan will agree that the 1993 original is the best, indeed being a historically groundbreaking achievement in filmmaking that saw terrifyingly realistic dinosaurs brought to life on the big screen. While its immediate follow-ups, 1997's The Lost World: Jurassic Park and 2001's Jurassic Park III failed to live up to the genius of their predecessor, they remain thoroughly entertaining entries. The sequel trilogy, perhaps viewed better as a both a sequel and reboot trilogy, still cannot live up to the brilliance of the original, but most fans would agree that they are worthy additions to the series.

During the hot and lazy days of summer, what better way to prepare for the summer of 2025's potentially biggest film than by catching up on these classics, from Jurassic Park all the way to Jurassic World: Dominion. And for the viewer who lacks the time or the interest in watching all six films, then watching Jurassic World: Dominion will arguably be just enough, as it evidently leads directly into the events of Jurassic World: Rebirth.

What is maybe most exciting about Rebirth is the return of the screenwriter of the 1993 original, David Koepp, whose comeback represents a coming full-circle for the franchise. Original writers will so often bring fresh ideas to a longstanding series, so whatever Koepp has in mind for this entry, viewers will be delighted to see. Not only will the film bring us to the original dinosaur-research location, but it will also bring a relevant political and moral issue to the forefront: the power of pharmaceutical companies and their influence on humanity. In addition, thirty years of more and more research on dinosaurs will also play into this film, as three decades of dino discoveries offers the potential to make this Jurassic entry all the more entertaining and indeed, educational. Until then, fans can enjoy all six of its predecessors on Peacock.

Jurassic World: Rebirth comes to theaters on July 2, 2025.
