The U.S. election has come and gone, and Donald Trump is President once more. The controversial politician managed to secure a victory against Democratic nominee Kamala Harris, despite the fact that Harris secured endorsements from several notable celebrities.

Many of these celebrities took to social media in the aftermath of the election to voice their frustration. Bette Midler, for example, posted a quote from journalist and essayist H.L. Mencken before deleting her Twitter account. Jamie Lee Curtis, meanwhile, voiced concern for what the U.S. will become during a second Trump term.

Jamie Lee Curtis called for support of marginalized groups

"It means a sure return to a more restrictive, some fear draconian time," the Oscar winner wrote. "Many fear their rights will be impeded and denied. Many, minority groups and young people will be afraid." Curtis assured said groups that they will receive support from those with compassion, and included herself among in this lot.

Adam McKay, the Oscar nominated director, took arguably the most scathing approach in terms of breaking down the Trump victory. He went on a multi-tweet tangent detailing what he felt were the biggest mistakes that Harris and the Democratic party made along the way. Anybody familiar with McKay's recent films, Vice (2018) and Don't Look Up (2021), included, will not be surprised by this.

Christina Applegate told Trump voters to unfollow her

Kerry Washington, a Golden Globe and Emmy nominee, urged U.S. citizens to be kind to one another in the wake of the election. "Be kind to yourself today," she posted. "There is more work to do." The most emotional plea, however, was made by actress Christina Applegate.

The actress voiced her frustration over the possibility of her daughter's rights being taken away by the Trump administration. She demanded that non-Harris supporters give her a valid reason why they, then proceeded to call out those who disagree with her beliefs.

"Please unfollow me if you voted against female rights," she wrote. "Unfollow me because what you did is unreal. Don’t want followers like this. So yeah. Done."
