Coming off the success of this year's romance drama Challengers, don't expect Italian filmmaker Luca Guadagnino to slow down anytime soon. His next film, Queer, is set to premiere at the Venice International Film Festival later this month, but he's already got another movie lined up after that. Or, multiple, reportedly.

It seems like we're always hearing about Guadagnino being attached to exciting new projects, and whether or not they all actually happen (RIP his Scarface movie and other titles), one we definitely know is in the works is After the Hunt. The thriller stars Julia Roberts, Andrew Garfield, and Ayo Edebiri, with Guadagnino's frequent collaborators Michael Stuhlbarg and Chloë Sevigny in supporting roles. Nora Garrett penned the script for what will be their screenwriting debut.

This week, we just got an exciting update that has us thrilled. As reported by Film Updates on X, After the Hunt has officially wrapped!

And don't worry, this isn't just a rumor. We did some digging and saw that production assistant Jordan Sharkey shared the news on social media. Taking to Instagram, Sharkey posted a photo of some of the cast members alongside Guadagnino on Aug. 14, writing in the caption, "And that's a Wrap on After The Hunt!"

Filming on After the Hunt began in early July, with Edebiri sharing the news to Instagram with the same photo Sharkey posted. The Bear star also included a hilarious screenshot of text messages from Guadagnino, who told her to share the photo on her grid, not just on her Instagram Story. Roberts shared the same photo.

After the Hunt stars Roberts as a college professor whose "dark secret" bubbles up after one of her students accuses one of her colleagues of something. Along with the juicy storyline, I'm certain this movie will get people talking. With an Academy Award winner leading the cast alongside a group of fantastic actors, it's sure to also get awards buzz.

Edebiri has surely made a name for herself since The Bear premiered in 2022, winning an Emmy Award for her performance as Sydney. She's also great in movies like Bottoms and The Sweet East. Garfield, an Oscar nominee, has continued to make interesting choices since his breakout role in The Social Network. It's no surprise he's remained one to watch.

Guadagnino has long been regarded as a great filmmaker, but his 2018 film Call Me By Your Name was a turning point for him. The movie, starring Timothée Chalamet and Armie Hammer, received four Academy Award nominations and one win.

After the Hunt is distributed by Amazon MGM Studios. We'll let you know once we hear of a theatrical premiere date for the highly-anticipated film.
