Thanks to VOD and streamers taking over the world of entertainment, movie fans are skipping the big screen. Instead of going to the local movie theater, they’re choosing to stay home to watch a movie from the comfort of their own couch. From the sci-fi adventure Twisters to the psychological thriller Longlegs, we’re listing the 10 most-streamed movies.
Nowadays, going to the movie theater can cost a pretty penny! Watching a movie from home can not only save you money but time, as well! Before we check out which movies made the top 10, let’s look at last week.
The Instigators was No. 1, an original Apple TV+ movie starring Matt Damon and Casey Affleck. The heist comedy was released on Aug. 2 and has a rotten score of 41% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes and 57% from audiences, so it wasn’t too well received. In second place was Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes after getting its streaming release on Hulu.
Also on the top 10, we had Deadpool and Deadpool 2 (both streaming on Disney+), due to the wildly popular Deadpool & Wolverine in theaters it’s no surprise that fans want to rewatch the first two. Other movies that enjoyed being in the top 10 last week, include Challengers, IF, and The Bikeriders. Did any of these movies make it to the top 10 this week? There’s only one way to find out! Thanks to Reelgood’s data, here are the top 10 movies. And this time around, we’ve added movies on VOD to the mix!

Finally, Borderlands, the biggest movie fail of the year (so far) will be available on VOD starting Aug. 29. All four of these movies will surely make the top 10 next week, but where will they rank?
