Thanks to the world of streaming services, it is easier than ever to watch a movie you either missed on the big screen or want to rewatch (without paying for another movie ticket). Which movies have you streamed lately?

If we had to guess, we would say Kingdon of the Planet of the Apes is your most current watch. Why? Because Reelgood has shared the top 10 most-watched movies on streaming with us and the Apes have claimed the top spot! The latest chapter in the Planet of the Apes franchise arrived on Hulu on Aug. 2, so we knew the movie would rank high on the list.

In second place, we have Deadpool 2, which is streaming on Disney+, and Twister, available to stream on Max. Both of these movies are popular because they have a sequel currently playing on the big screen. Deadpool & Wolverine opened in theaters on July 26, and Twisters, starring Glen Powell, premiered on July 19. Whenever we get a prequel, sequel, or reboot, we always search all streaming platforms for the original or film that came before it.

Check out which other movies made it to the top 10, followed by our predictions for next week.

The top 10 movies on streaming this week (Aug. 1-7)

  1. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (streaming on Hulu)
  2. Deadpool 2 (streaming on Disney+)
  3. Twister (streaming on Max)
  4. Deadpool (streaming on Disney+)
  5. Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (streaming on Netflix)
  6. Tarot (streaming on Netflix)
  7. IF (streaming on Paramount+)

Alien: Romulus hits theaters on Friday, Aug. 16, and I know I’m not the only one who has been watching other Alien movies in the franchise. Romulus takes place after the events of Alien (1979), it works just fine as a standalone chapter, but the movie experience is always better when you have a little bit of knowledge about the story. I’m willing to bet we’ll see the original Alien movie in the top 10 really soon.

Another movie we should soon see climb the chart is The Bikeriders, which made its streaming debut on Peacock on Aug. 9. The movie stars Austin Butler and Jodie Comer. Also on Aug. 9, The Instigators, starring Matt Damon and Casey Affleck premiered on Aug. 9.

How many of the movies on the top 10 have you streamed?
