The Wicked: For Good trailers have been circulating for the past few weeks, and the final trailer, released on Wednesda, Sept. 24, has garnered 2.4 million views on YouTube. Depending on which one you're watching, they're embedded with high-climatic scenes that we're looking forward to. One thing's for sure, though, is that it's going to be a battle between the Good and the Wicked, and how it will impact the friendship of Glinda and Elphaba.

As Wicked: For Good is the finale to its 2024 success, Wicked, it will tie in Dorothy's story as part of the narrative. Additionally, Elphaba and Glinda's powers will be unleashed with their strongest forces, but only one witch will sadly remain, making the journey far darker than an eclipse. Fans might be crying following the events, as that's the movie's fate, but maybe also because Wicked: For Good will be the last chapter.

We rounded five core moments from the final trailer and what made them stand out above the rest.

Dorothy enters the World of Oz

In Wicked: For Good, Dorothy arrives in Munchkinland via tornado, and her unannounced visit wreaks havoc in Oz's seemingly perfect world. Her presence will be a significant factor in the story, as she'll unknowingly unite everyone. Her friends were once part of Oz's high society, and interestingly enough, they'll help guide Dorothy throughout her adventure, linking the worlds of The Wizard of Oz and Wicked together.

You might even have noticed something different about Dorothy, and that's her footwear. In the 1939 installment, her slippers are ruby red, a decision made by Warner Bros. Studios. The reason behind this is that the shoes could enhance the film's Technicolor format. In Wicked, Dorothy's slippers are silver, paying a homage to the 1900 children's novel, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by author L. Frank Baum.

The Tin Man becomes scrap metal

Elphaba uses her powers to transform Bos into the Tin Woodsman. He's appalled by what he has become, as anyone would be, and if Jack Haley, who portrayed the original Tin Man, has taught us anything, it is that you don't change back to your human form.

But at least, he gets a heart by that sketchy wizard.

Glinda's and Elphaba's friendship is threatened

We all know that Glinda and Elphaba had a rocky relationship once they left school and began ruling over their territories, and Wicked: For Good promises to utilize this narrative. However, in the trailer, it depicts that the women are working hard to restructure their bond, no matter what.

What makes it even sadder is Grande's singing of "For Good," which gives the situation a remarkable, but haunting feeling.

The 1939 aesthetic

If you studied the trailers artistically, then you'll notice that they pay homage to 1939. The propaganda posters are excellent examples of the Modern Art Movement, which gained popularity in the 1930s.

Another nod is the exterior of the Emerald City, and while it's nothing like the MGM classic, its elements greatly mimic early 20th-century architecture.

Glinda's wedding to Prince Fiyero (first trailer)

It's a political marriage for sure, but we can't help it if Glinda looks beautiful on her wedding day. Fiyero's heart still yearns for Elphaba, and the trailer depicts that the two desires to be a couple, despite their backgrounds and despite their current circumstances. Glinda is only marrying him because it's to be expected and to secure her high rank in Emerald City.

We all know that love triangles often hurt and don't have a happy ending, but nonetheless, it'll be interesting to see how this arc plays out.
