Prime Video's hit show, The Summer I Turned Pretty, will be heading to the Big Screen following its season 3 (and series) finale. While the storyline is currently under wraps, the movie will tie up loose ends and provide a satisfying conclusion between Belly, Conrad, and Jeremiah. Fans were gravely disappointed after Amazon announced that the beloved drama would end after its third season, which was on Wednesday, Sept. 17.
In case you don't know what Prime Video's The Summer I Turned Pretty is about, the narrative follows Isabel "Belly" Conklin, Conrad Fisher, and his brother Jeremiah, in a complicated love triangle, with Belly untangling her web of life and her future as she sorts out her feelings. The situation causes conflict between the three, but through it, Belly's heart was right along with the one she desired.
The series is based on the book trilogy of the same name by American writer Jenny Han. She's also the executive producer of the show, and has bern appointed as the director and writer of the upcoming movie.

Here's what to know about The Summer I Turned Pretty movie
Amazon broke the news that a movie has been greenlit on September 17- the day of the finale, during The Summer I Turned Pretty event in Paris. Stars Lola Tung, Gavin Casalegno, Christopher Briney, a majority of the series cast, and Jenny Han were in attendance.
Per a press release, Han gave highlights that the movie will have a "big milestone" for the female protagonist and give the series a well-deserved ending. The author additionally thanked Amazon for their support. The Summer I Turned Pretty was an unexpected success.
"There is another big milestone left in Belly’s journey, and I thought only a movie could give it its proper due. I’m so grateful to Prime Video for continuing to support my vision for this story and for making it possible to share this final chapter with the fans."
During the NBC's Today live telecast on Thursday, Sept. 18, the cast and Han sat down for a video interview to reveal more details regarding the movie, including the premiere date. Unfortunately, it won't happen next year, but a draft is in the works.
"It’s still a little too soon to say [when The Summer I Turned Pretty movie will come out], but it won't be next year."
Tung, Briney, and Casalegno will reprise their roles in the film, and allowing their journeys to come full tilt. Meanwhile, until we get to see their ending, all three seasons of the drama can be streamed on Amazon.
