Weapons is only just out in theaters, but it should stream before the end of the year.

If you’re looking for a good horror movie to check out, Weapons is certainly the top choice. After originally being pushed from its January 2025 release date, it is now out in theaters, and it’s gaining some positive reviews from audiences.

Of course, not everyone wants to head to the theaters. If you have seen it in the theaters, you’ll likely want to check it out again at home. You can get the perfect setting in your living room or home theater setup. So, you need to know when and where it’s streaming, and we have an idea on the Weapons streaming release date.

Weapons is sure to head to HBO Max first

As a Warner Bros. movie, there is only one initial streaming home. You know that Warner Bros. movies head to HBO Max at first, because it’s also owned by Warner Bros. Discovery.

Maybe in the future it will go to the likes of Netflix or Prime Video, but for now, it’s only going to be on HBO Max to stream at home. It makes sense for companies to keep their content on their own streaming platforms, but Warner Bros. knows the benefit of putting movies elsewhere, so after a couple of years, we do tend to see them move around.

If you want to watch on other platforms, you’ll need to buy on Digital. That’s not possible yet, but we do have a rough date in mind for that as well.

Here’s when we predict Weapons will be on HBO Max

So, what about release patterns? Well, the Digital release is usually before the streaming release. Based on the release of Final Destination Bloodlines, we’re looking at Weapons taking around a month to head to Digital, putting it around early to mid September 2025.

The streaming date is going to be longer. Final Destination Bloodlines did go to HBO Max after just two-and-a-half months of being in theaters, so it’s plausible that we’ll get Weapons on HBO Max in time for Halloween. That being said, A Minecraft Movie took three months, so we may have to wait until November.

I think Warner Bros. will know that a Halloween release is perfect for a horror movie and will opt for that. There’s no doubt that people are going to get friends over and purposely get HBO Max for this horror movie considering the hype around it.

Weapons is still out in theaters.
