With the streaming debut of Captain America: Brave New World fast approaching, it's an ideal time to outline the potential extras included in its release. Deleted scenes, in particular, have sparked much curiosity.
For a month, audiences have thoroughly examined the few scenes released to the public. One sequence depicts Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) sparring with Xosha Roquemore's character, Leila Taylor. Another scene showcases Thunderbolt Ross (Harrison Ford) apologizing to Isaiah Bradley (Carl Lumbly) for the treatment he endured, ending with a personal invite to chat further.
Alone, those scenes don't seem all that significant, but when paired with other information, such as Taylor's comic counterpart, their importance becomes elevated. Leila, for instance, is Sam's love interest in the comics. The MCU version of Sam Wilson hasn't expressed romantic feelings towards anyone yet, but Leila's introduction could pave the way for a new development in Captain America's character arc.
The other scene featuring Isaiah Bradley greeting President Ross holds the potential to turn Bradley into a superhero. Comic counterpart notwithstanding, Marvel Studios has sprinkled hints of Bradley becoming the MCU's second Black Captain America in Disney Plus' Falcon and the Winter Soldier and this year's Brave New World. A piece of concept art further lends evidence to those claims.
It shows Bradley suited up in a black stealth suit reminiscent of SHIELD's Agent outfits. He's also brandishing an arm brace—presumably after crashing through a bulletproof barrier.
While a single image may not be all that important, it corroborates recent speculation that Marvel is about to introduce an old-school Avengers team. A growing roster of heroes from the 1950s suggests Bradley's younger self may be among them.
The current archive of retired heroes includes the original Ant-Man (Michael Douglas), Wasp (Michelle Pfieffer), Goliath (Laurence Fishburne), Red Guardian (David Harbour), Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper), Peggy Carter (Haley Atwell), and The Ancient One (Tilda Swinton). By adding Isaiah Bradley to the team, he serves as the remaining component needed to assemble a loyal Avengers team.
Deleted Scenes Fans Want To See

More importantly, Brave New World's extras have seemingly excluded the scenes that were the most intriguing. One of these would've centered around Thunderbolt Ross' funeral, marking the first appearance of James Rhodes (Don Cheadle) since his rescue from a Skrull prison in Secret Invasion.
Another implication of Ross' funeral would've been its ability to convince the public of his death. Of course, in reality, Ross would've become one of Sam Wilson's recruits. His future in the MCU still holds said potential, but such a storyline is on hold until Ross' sentence is commuted.
The last scene that fans didn't get to see—and probably won't see the light of day—could've featured Sam Wilson's team, consisting of Falcon (Danny Ramirez), Agent Ruth (Shira Haas), Isaiah Bradley, and Captain America himself charging into action against The Serpents.

Initially included in the script for Captain America: Serpent Society, The Serpents, led by Sidewinder (Giancarlo Esposito), incorporated various characters from the comics, such as King Cobra (Seth Rollins) and Diamondback (Rosa Salazar). Rumors indicate the final act ended with their clash. And while The Serpents were completely cut from the film, there's probably a recorded reel of them charging at each other, a la Civil War. Something fans want to see.
Captain America: Brave New World begins streaming on Disney Plus on May 28, 2025.
