Ladies and gentlemen, the award season for movies is upon us. The 30th Critics' Choice Awards will be awarded on January 12, 2025. This morning, the nominees for the show were announced, and a star-studded list of movies and actors is set to go head-to-head. We share the list of nominees with you below.
As a Critics Choice voting member, I take pride in watching as much as possible to present an accurate ballot. This season, I watched a little over 200 films (and counting) and felt great about my picks. My top movies of 2024 were Dune: Part Two, Nickel Boys, Civil War, Nosferatu, and Emilia Perez, so amongst those movies, I had over 40 nominations on my ballot. Of course, not every one of my picks made it, but I am pretty happy with the nominees who did.

Conclave continues to make noise with its 11 nominations, including Isabella Rossellini, who has snuck into the Best Supporting Actress category. Rossellini is someone to keep an eye out for because if the Conclave love continues, I would expect to hear her name on Oscar nomination morning.
Wicked continues to stack up the nominations along with its massive box office numbers, showing it is a true player this awards season. This movie isn't going anywhere, and now, with the recent run of nominations and wins, we can consider this one of the Best Picture favorites. After the snub by the Golden Globes, Denis Villeneuve showed up in Best Director, along with nine other nominations for Dune: Part Two. The film made CCA history by being the first film to repeat the same ten CCA nominations as the first film. I am glad my fellow CCA voters didn't let the movie down.
