In some exciting news, Freakier Friday is out in theaters. It’s the sequel we have all been waiting for, and yes, it was worth the wait for many of us.
Freaky Friday came out in 2003, at the height of Lindsay Lohan’s fame. She teamed up with Jamie Lee Curtis to bring a reboot of a story that never gets old. Who doesn’t love body-switching storylines and seeing how well actors handle their counterparts?
Well, it all happens again in Freakier Friday, but this time, four characters all switch roles. I won’t tell you who switches with who, but I will tell you that it’s a lot of fun, mixing a slightly new storyline with some nostalgic moments.
Freakier Friday will head to Disney+
Now for the information you want. Not everyone wants to head to movie theaters, and I get it. They’re not the cheapest places to be anymore. So, you want to know when and where Freakier Friday will stream.
As this is a Disney movie, the first streaming home shouldn’t be that surprising. It’s going to head to Disney+.
It could end up moving to other streaming platforms in the future, but not for a number of years. And even then, I doubt it will be exclusively, so it’s likely to remain on Disney+ at the same time. If you have a Hulu and Disney+ bundle, you’ll be able to watch it via the Hulu app as well come 2026.

Freaky Friday 2 will be available to stream before the end of 2025
We’re pretty certain that Freakier Friday will head to Disney+ before 2025 ends. This is based on the releases of other Disney movies, including the most recent Lilo & Stitch.
Lilo & Stich was released in theaters in the middle of May 2025 and it’s heading to Disney+ on Sept. 3, 2025. So, that’s just short of four months or so to wait. With the Freaky Friday sequel in theaters now, we’re looking at toward the beginning of December 2025 as a release date on Disney+ at the latest. We’re actually thinking it’s going to be the middle of November.
And if you know that you will love the movie and want to add it to your DVD collection, we’re sure it’s going to arrive on DVD and Blu-ray. That’s probably going to be around the three-month mark at the latest, so we’re looking at around the beginning of November.
One thing is clear, there should be a way to watch the Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis sequel at home around Thanksgiving. And it’s the perfect family movie to check out.
