It seems Enola Holmes is one step closer to making its way to Netflix!
Millie Bobby Brown shared the exciting news on Instagram that Enola Holmes 3 had wrapped filming. Brown posted an Instagram slideshow of behind-the-scenes photos from filming the third Enola Holmes film. They include photos with her director, the crew, and co-stars as well as an image of the Stranger Things star in costume on the set of the film. "Case closed," Brown revealed in the caption, confirming filming had wrapped on the third installment in the Netflix film franchise.
The Netflix film series stars Brown as the younger sister of the world-famous detective Sherlock Holmes (played in this series by Henry Cavill). The younger Holmes also shares Sherlock’s penchant for seeking out mysteries and adventures.
The upcoming film sees Enola travel to Malta, where "personal and professional dreams collide in a case more tangled and treacherous than any she has faced before." Netflix's Tudum teased that Enola would tackle “another mystery” in Malta ,and the audience would see her “flung into a nest of vipers." But it’s not just her professional life Enola has to handle, she is also faced with taking her romance with Tewkesbury to the next stage.
We first met Sherlock’s young but sharp sister in 2020, with a sequel released in 2022. Fans have often commented on the long wait for the third in the series, with a release date still not set at Netflix. The sequel sees Enola establish her own detective agency in London, with the story mirroring the real-life 1888 matchgirls' strike.

The third film in the series sees Philip Barantini take over from Harry Bradbeer as director. He recently worked on Netflix’s hit series Adolescence, Boiling Point, and Accused. Jack Thorne returns to write the script, based on Nancy Springer's The Enola Holmes Mysteries books. Thorne and Barantini recently worked together to make Adolescence, which is expected to make a huge impact at the upcoming Emmy Awards.
Plenty of cast members are returning, including Louis Partridge as Tewkesbury, Helena Bonham Carter as Eudoria Holmes, Henry Cavill as Sherlock Holmes, Himesh Patel as Dr John Watson, and Sharon Duncan-Brewster as Moriarty.
Although there is no word of the release date of Enola Holmes 3, fans can soon see Millie Bobby Brown in the final season of Stranger Things. It has recently been announced that the season, which will consist of eight episodes, is set to be released in three parts in November and December.
Brown is also set to star in and produce an adaptation of her own novel, Nineteen Steps, for Netflix. The film will be a 1940s-set story based on her grandmother’s own experiences of Britain, including the Bethnal Green tube disaster.
