Fright Night (1985)
The original Fright Night movie is one for new and old fans alike. It's more of a dark comedy that anyone can enjoy, with that perfect mix of horror and campy '80s horro movie vibe we all know and love. A simple story that is easy to follow and with special effects that seem ahead of its time, it's no wonder this movie has stayed a must-see and even boasts a remake back in 2011. Any vampire fan will be in for a treat as it goes back to original vampire lore, as this vampire is both charming and horrifying.
The story follows a boy, Charley Brewster, as he and his mother welcome a brand new neighbor. Charley sees nothing amiss until one night he sees that his new neighbor is bearing fangs. Vampire Hunter D (1985)
Vampire Hunter D has been a staple in the Japanese light novel world for a very long time, and boasting 30+ volumes over the years, it's surprising that not many movie adaptations are available. The first ever Vampire Hunter D movie was made in the mid-'80s, and it is a staple in many anime watchers' homes. While the animation can be called dated and the story a little slow, it is still a thrill to watch and a must-see for any vampire fan.
The story follows a vampire hunter dhampir named D, as he travels for hire in the year 12,090 A.D. The nobles have all but disappeared, but their mark is forever a blemish upon the land, as humans try to make a living in a barren wasteland. D makes his money as a vampire killer for hire, and his path is crossed by a girl by the name of Doris who has been bitten and marked by an old, powerful noble. She hires him to protect her and kill the noble so she can live in peace on her farm and take care of her younger brother.

Priest (2011)
Based on the manhwa of the same name, Priest is a good flick for anyone looking for a more sci-fi take on vampires and the priests that hunt them. Priest wasn't a box office success, but the take on the wasteland western is a fun story full of fun action scenes and gory vampire killing that both action and horror fans will enjoy. The story is simple, but that's half the fun of watching Priest; it's a fun ride from beginning to end with a world that is very interesting to see.
The story follows a warrior priest who disobeys orders when he finds out that his niece has been kidnapped by vampires. With the vampire army supposedly wiped out in the war, he must team up with a sheriff and a former priest to hunt this new threat and rescue his niece before it's too late. Little does the priest know that he must come to terms with a mistake from his past that comes back to bite him.

Van Helsing (2004)
Van Helsing is a name a lot of people know, but not the movie form, and the lack of success of this movie is a tragedy. Filled with swashbuckling monster-hunting action. It's a pity that there aren't more fans of this classic vampire hunter flick, as it melds vampire horror with monster horror very well.
Van Helsing is a legendary monster hunter, but he has lost all memory of who he was before. He is sent all over the world by The Vatican, and this time he is sent to Romania to battle against Count Dracula and his wives, who are terrorizing the citizens of Transylvania with all sorts of monstrous creatures. Mysteries come to light, and Van Helsing realizes it's going to take all of his skills to destroy Dracula once and for all.
Available on Blu-ray, DVD. Streaming on Peacock and available for rent on Amazon and Fandango at Home.

The Invitation (2022)
The Invitation is one of the newer movies on this list, and it leans more into the thriller horror genre of the vampire film world. With a touch of romance as well, thanks to a charming vampire lead. It's a wonder why more people aren't talking about this film, especially with a strong female lead and a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat with the twists and turns. The Invitation isn't a movie you want to sleep on.

The Last Voyage of the Demeter (2023)
A true horrifying flick that makes out the Count we all know as a truly monstrous creature, both in action and visage. This isn't the charming and handsome vampire story from a YA novel. Dracula is a creature that will haunt your dreams as this gruesome tale unfolds on screen.
The Demeter and her crew stop where they pick up important cargo to take to London. Unbeknownst to the captain and crew, some of the cargo they received houses a truly terrifying creature that no man on board has ever seen before. Legendary vampire hunter D finds himself hired by the Elbourne family as their treasured daughter is kidnapped by a noble lord.
