Freakier Friday post-credits scene brings a touch of nostalgia

There is an end-credit scene in Freakier Friday, but not the type you'd expect.

Thanks to Marvel movies, end-credit scenes are almost expected, but that wasn’t the case for back in the day. Freakier Friday, the sequel to the popular Freaky Friday movie, brings back a touch of the past with its end-credit scene.

Yes, there is a scene worth sticking around for, but it doesn’t do what most scenes do today. This isn’t to continue the story or set up another follow-up movie. Instead, it brings a sense of what we got 20+ years ago when Freaky Friday first came out.

Freakier Friday’s end-credit scenes is what we got in the past

Back in the day, end-credit scenes were actually bloopers from the movie. They were a chance to see what it was like for the cast filming, allowing for filmed material not to be wasted. After all, it cost money to film those bloopers.

They often ran during the credits, sometimes cutting to the side to give some sort of entertainment while the names popped up on the screen. That’s not quite the way it works in Freakier Friday, but the post-credit scene is still worth watching.

We get the bloopers for Freakier Friday, offering a look at how Lindsay Lohan, Jamie Lee Curtis, and the rest of the cast got along. It’s a clear sign that Lohan and Curtis didn’t “reunite” for the Freaky Friday sequel. The two have been in each other’s lives consistently since they made the original 2003 movie. We get to see how they continue to connect today.

Deadpool & Wolverine did something similar

This isn’t the first time a movie in 2025 has brought some nostalgia with the end-credit scenes. Deadpool & Wolverine didn’t bring a traditional Marvel end-credit scene either. Instead, it brought a look back at how both Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman started out in the Marvel universe via their characters and the development of those characters over the years.

We got interviews, snapshots of filming of the past, and a few deleted scenes here and there. With the way Deadpool & Wolverine connected to past parts of the MCU and X-Men franchises, it made sense to have an ending like this.

I would love to see a return to the Y2K end-credit scenes. Bloopers are always a lot of fun, because we get to see the actors for who they are. We’re reminded that they do make mistakes on set, and we get to see the humanity within them that red carpet events can often take away.

Freakier Friday is now out in theaters, and make sure you stick around for some nostalgic fun.
